Regular Season Back to Back was the theme at the start of season. Gone was Mike Abbondanza in goal, but Jim Brunner, a sophomore, stepped in to replace him and along with Matt Coppola gave Meadville solid goaltending throughout the season. The '92-'93 schedule was the most difficult ever in Meadville history. The team played in four tournaments including one in Cranbrook, MI; the Nichols tourney in Buffalo and the St. Ed's tourney in Cleveland. The only tournament they won was the Central Catholic Invitational with a convincing victory over Buffalo St. Francis. As well, the team played four games against the Cleveland Lumberjacks AAA Midget team - the `Dogs won two, lost one and tied one.

The Bulldogs only lost seven games that year - all against teams mentioned in the above tournaments and the Lumberjacks. Meadville did not lose a single game to a PA high school and won their seventh consecutive Lakeshore title. Some people feel this may have been the finest Meadville team assembled in Plunkett's tenure as coach.
Post-Season The `Dogs rolled through the Western PA playoffs setting up a rematch with Monsignor Bonner in Philadelphia.

After falling behind 1-0, Meadville tied the game on Brandon Corey's goal late in the second period. The Bulldogs scored four times in the third as they won 5-1. Jim Brunner was named game MVP.
