Ryan Smart
Ryan's number, 12, was retired in October of 1997.

Ryan Smart was the first Bulldog player to have his number retired. Ryan was a four year member of the team (1990-94). Assistant captain his junior year and team captain his senior year. Won three Class AAA State Championships during his career. Drafted in the 6th round of the NHL Entry Draft in June of 1994 by the New Jersey Devils. First Western Pennsylvania hockey player to go directly from high school to a Division I hockey program.

Played college hockey at Cornell University (1994-98). Won two ECAC Hockey championships while at Cornell and participated in three NCAA tournaments. Smart was a member of the ECAC Rookie Team during his freshman year at Cornell (1994-95) and was selected to the prestigious Olympic Festival in 1995, held in Colorado.

Won the inaugural Bob Johnson Scholarship, awarded by the Pittsburgh Penguins to the outstanding High School Hockey Player in Western PA. The award is named after the late Pittsburgh Penguin Coach.

Ronnie Pusz
Ronnie's number, 14, was retired on December 15, 2007.

Ronnie Pusz was a four year member of the Bulldog Varsity team from 1992-96 and was captain his senior year. One of only two Class AAA players to win four State Championships during high school career. (Scott Phillis is the other.)

Scott Phillis
Scott's number, 55, was retired in November of 2000.

Scott Phillis was the second player in program history to have his number retired. Scott was a four year member of the team (1991-95). A prolific scorer, Scott scored 50 goals his freshman year, a record that will probably never be broken. Assistant captain his junior year and team captain his senior year. Won four Class AAA State Championships during his four year career - the first player to do so. Scott holds practically every scoring record in program history. After a sub-par first half of the season, Scott led his team to a program record 28-0-1 record the second half of the 1994-95 season, a record that still stands en route to the program's fourth consecutive state title.

Earned a golf scholarship to Penn State University where he was a four year member of the golf team.

Only Class AAA Player to be named Most Valuable Player twice in State Championship games. (1994 adn 1995 vs. Germantown Academy).
