Letter received from Susen G. Komen for the Cure, October 25, 2007 --
Dear Dr. Finton:
Susan G. Komen for the Cure launched the breast cancer movement 25 years ago, transforming the culture by changing how the world talks about and treats this devastating disease.
For the past two years, the Pittsburgh Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure has been honored to have been the recipient of well over $11,000 from the fundraising efforts of the Meadville Bulldogs Hockey Team. By joining Susan G. Komen for the Cure in ou rpromise to end breast cancer forever, this extraordinary group of young men has mad ea difference in the lives of so many women in western and central Pennsylvania. We are also extremely proud to announce that last month, the Pittsburgh Affiliate was able to grant $41,550 to Meadville Medical Center for breast cancer education and treatment programs. It is important to recognize the direct impact these young men have had in the heath of women and their families in the Meadville community.
We value the support we have received from the Meadville Hockey Bulldogs. Together, we will save lives while working to improve and extend the lives of those already diagnosed with breast cancer. Together we will make a difference.
Sincerely,
Jo Ann Meier
Executive Director
